Puzzled Palate
Our recent Puzzled Palate event held at Sienna Ristorante on Daniel Island on August 18, 2008, raised more than $10,000 for Camp Good Times. The event was covered in the media on several television morning shows, in the local newspapers and in Charleston Magazine's Fete Sete section.We would like to sincerely thank our host of this event, Ken Vedrinski of Sienna Risorante and P retoria Lucca and our corporate sponsors of this event GrassRoots Wholesale Wine Distributors and The Charleston Club, Daniel Island for making this event a reality.
Chef Vedrinski of Sienna, and his talented friends: James Beard Award Winner, Celina Tio of Julian(s) in Charlotte, Wally Jo of KC's in Mississippi, Shaun Doty of Shaun's in Atlanta and Sienna's own pastry chef Caitlin Kelly prepared an amazing four-course meal that included truffle-cured salmon carpaccio with a tomato and shell bean salad, vermillion snapper, roasted quail, and homemade ricotta torta with local peaches and blueberries. Each course had wine pairings provided by Grassroots Wine Wholesalers.
The night included a reception where guests had the opportunity to bid on auction items that ranged from an epicurean adventure four local fine dining restaurants and a boat cruise in the Charleston harbor on Chef Ken Vedrinski's boat, which would include wine and hors d'oeuvres prepared by the chef to a weeklong stay with daily golf in Williamsburg Virginia at Kings Creek Plantation. Guests were entertained throughout the evening by Charleston Grill general manager, Mickey Bakst who emceed the event.
