About Camp

"My son was able to have just as much fun during the summer as my other two typical developing boys. Thank you Camp Good Times for allowing this to be possible.""It makes me so happy to know that my son with autism has a place to go to just have fun with counselors who are aware of the problems and struggles that kids with autism face and are capable and competent to handle these issues."
"The only complaint I have about camp is that I wish it would last longer! My daughter loves going to camp each day! The first thing she says each morning when she wakes up is 'camp!'"
"I have two boys, Michael my oldest is 10 and has extreme ADHD and some asperger tendencies and William who has autism and happens to also be an amputee. Both boys have a lot of energy and have been dubbed as "high impact kids." Both boys have gone to Camp Good Times for four years now. I love that my boys can have the same experience even though their diagnoses are different. It can be tough having two kids so close in age but unable to do the same things. Both boys have learned at camp that everyone is different but everyone still needs a friend. They have also had the joy of "being accepted for who they are" at Camp Good times. I have yet to have both of my kids accepted and not stick out as being different at any other place then at camp. For our family it is two weeks of peace and "normalcy." It is truly a blessing!"
"My son Anthony is eight years old. We have come a long way since he was first diagnosed with autism at age four. Dealing with Anthony means having to have an incredible amount of patience and if I want to have any sort of real relationship with him, beyond just loving him because he is mine, then I really have to slow down, sit with him, listen to the gibberish that means something in his mind, and look beyond the strange things that he does and find the reasoning behind it. It takes just a little bit longer to figure him out and the counselors at Camp Good Times are more than willing to do this and make sure that he has a positive experience at camp. We love him so much! He is an awesome kid! "
"Thomas loved his first year at camp this summer! His trip to the water park was the highlight of his summer. He took to the kiddie slides on his own and was so proud of himself! Thomas is so smart and has taught himself to read at age 3, but has trouble socializing with kids his age. We were touched to hear him bless his Camp Good Times friends and counselors each night at prayer time. Camp Good Times is truly a gift for children with autism."
"Reid has gone to CGT for the past three summers. He has enjoyed all activities at the camp but in particular all the swimming. Reid really looks forward to camp and has so much fun. HIs days at camp are filled with activities like swimming, art, music, computer and other fun things, CGT has given Reid the chance to experience summer camp that he otherwise would not be able to attend. Since he needs one-on-one there is no other camp in the area that would allow him to attend. Therefore we are so grateful to all who make it possible for Reid to experience summer camp like most typically developing children. Thank you"
